In 1982, when Toba Tek Singh was declared a District, Mr. Junid Iqbal Ch. the Assistant Commissioner, Toba Tek Singh visualized the need of a quality public school in the District Head Quarters. He constituted a construction committee consisting of the following members:

The Foundation was laid by Junaid Iqbal Ch. Assistant commissioner, on 22nd March 1982. Primary section stared functioning on 24th October, 1982. Javaid A Qureshi, Commissioner Faisalabad, inaugurated it on 9thNovember1982. Another block was constructed in 1989. The graceful Auditorium became part of the school building in 1990. Mr. Farooq Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Toba Tek Singh (August 1993 to October 1996) allotted 15 acres of land and allocated an amount of Rs.50 Lac from D.C Welfare fund for the construction of Girls Section. He arranged another Rs.25Lac from Punjab Educational Foundation Lahore for Principal’s residence and completion of Girls Section.

Ch. Muhammad Ashfaq (Ex. Distt.Nazim) secured Rs.80 Lac from CCB funds for construction of Admin block, Library, Laboratories and classrooms. They started working in 2007. Earlier, he got the school Auditorium renovated with the addition of false ceiling and sound system in 1996. The upper story of the Girls Section was constructed in 2010 through CCB fund approved by the DCO Amanullah Khan. The Nursery block of the Junior Section was completed and handed over in 2012.The institution was upgraded to Higher Secondary Level for Girls (Pre-Medical, Pre Engineering and General Science) in 2010. The name of this esteemed institution was changed from Jinnah Public School to Divisional Public School & College in 2012. Syed Tahir Hussain, Commissioner Faisalabad, became the first Patron-in-Chief. A block of 16 classrooms has been constructed in Junior Wing and will be handed over with the start of session 2023. The Institution has been showing outstanding results in the District since its establishment. The alumni are serving this and other countries as Doctors, Engineers, Military Officers, Bureaucrats, Bankers and Successful Businessmen. We wish and hope that the institution achieves even higher glories in future!
